Biography

Alison Smart joined Manchester Business School in April 2000. Prior to this she spent four years as a research fellow at the University of Edinburgh Management School, working on a project funded under the ESRC Innovation Programme. She has a BSc and DPhil in chemistry and obtained her MBA after spending several years working in Research and Development for major chemical manufacturers.

Teaching and Research interests

Teaching: Operations Management and related subjects.

Research: supply chain management, with a particular emphasis on the application of technology; operations management issues in SMEs.
