First Grant: Dr Brian Squire is looking for companies interested in issues of supply chain risk and vulnerability. Research shows that although SC disruptions cost a staggering average of $50-100 million per day, a mere 5% of companies have sufficient mitigation strategies in place. This study will look at the identification, prioritisation and mitigation of supply network risks. If you are interested in learning more about this study please contact Brian at Brian.Squire@mbs.ac.uk.
EPSRC Grant Commences. Dr Benn Lawson and Dr Antony Potter (Post-Doc Research Fellow) have commenced a two-year EPSRC funded study on supplier integration in new product development, running from Mar 2007 to Feb 2009 (value £200,000). Companies or researchers interested in being involved should contact Dr Benn Lawson at b.lawson@qub.ac.uk

They are aimed at Chief Purchasing Officers and will last for approximately one hour, with some time for questions. We aim to hold around four of these a year in various locations around the UK. The next session will be on 26 September. Full details of future briefings will be sent out to SCMRG members and will also be available on the CIPS website.
Evening Briefings. Commencing in September 2007 we will be launching a series of Evening Briefings, one evening seminar each semester. It is envisaged that these briefings will take the form of a “double act” between a practitioner and an academic.
